Door Systems

SINGLE FLUSH-GLIDING DOORS
The single flush-gliding door is designed for small buses and utility coaches on which the front body pillar has only a small rearwards inclination, or none. It is suitable for apertures up to 750mm wide, but with a heavier shaft and larger actuator it can be used for aperture widths up to one metre.

It can be shaped to fit flush with a profiled body-side, and has the advantage over a pivot door in that it does not sweep forward as it opens and so can be located closer to the front of the bus without conflict with the windscreen or front rim.

HANDRAIL
Gliding doors are normally supplied complete with a diagonally ascending handrail finished in yellow polyester.

NOSING RUBBER
The meeting edge of the door leaf  has a hollow rubber nosing which seals on a smaller rubber section mounted in a special section attached to the body pillar.

APERTURE SEALS
A rubber seal is provided for fitting to the vehicle body at the front of the doorway. The door movement is such that the nosing has to pass outwards through the top seal as the door opens, so making it necessary to use a compact nylon brush for the top seal. The bottom seal is also a nylon brush mounted adjustably on the door leaf.
